Documentary and street

I photograph Japan the way I find it—streets, people, local music scenes, and everyday moments that don’t need staging to matter. Most of my work is black and white film, developed and scanned by hand, which keeps the process honest and the final image grounded in the moment it came from.

My style leans toward documentary, shaped by observation rather than direction. Whether it’s a quiet corner, a small interaction, or a burst of energy on stage, I’m drawn to scenes that reflect the character of a place and the people who move through it.

These photographs are part of ongoing projects built around the places I live and spend my time. This is Japan as I’ve experienced it—real, imperfect, and worth paying attention to.
